• North Carolina voter ID law struck down by US appeals court

    In the wake of a decision Friday by a federal appeals court in Virginia, North Carolina residents won't have to worry about flashing a photo ID when they cast a ballot on November 8 for offices ranging all the way up to the presidency. North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory, a Republican who is up for re-election in November, also said the state would appeal the ruling and "review other potential options".
