Controversial 'Fire and Fury' Trump book sells out

The White House has been pushing back forcefully against a new supposed tell-all book - Michael Wolff's Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House - which was rushed into stores on Friday after the Trump administration failed to suppress it.

US journalist Michael Wolff and President Donald Trump.

In addition, Wolff says in the book that the president's relationship with his youngest son, Barron, 11, is distant, claiming "an absentee father for his first four children, Trump was even more absent for his fifth, Barron".

The new fissure in an already fractious Republican Party cast doubt on Bannon's hopes to foment a movement centred on 'Trumpism without Trump'.

"Fire and Fury" paints a derogatory portrait of Trump, describing him as an undisciplined man-child who didn't actually want to win the White House. Wolff wrote about Trump's campaign and the early days of his presidency, and the president took to Twitter late Thursday to denounce it.

For example, the book leads the reader to believe that Trump likes to be in bed by 6.30pm with a cheeseburger while watching three televisions simultaneously. Mr Trump said on Twitter that it is full of "lies, misrepresentations and sources that don't exist". He went on to say that Republicans aren't saying this publicly, despite agreeing behind closed doors, because they have a legislative agenda to get passed and need the President on board.

Conway was also the pollster for former Vice President Dan Quayle's presidential campaign in 1999 when she still went by her maiden name, Fitzpatrick.

"I never understood half of the president's staffing", he said.

"Now that Russian collusion, after one year of intense study, has proven to be a total hoax on the American public, the Democrats and their lapdogs, the Fake News Mainstream Media, are taking out the old Ronald Reagan playbook and screaming mental stability and intelligence".

"Suddenly everywhere people are going 'oh my God, it's true, he has no clothes'. Look at this guy's past and watch what happens to him and Sloppy Steve!" It demands a halt to publication of the book or of excerpts. The Mercers wanted Bannon inside Trump. "Yes", Mr Wolff replied.

"When you write a book like this, people regret what they said to me. This is how you do it", he said.

Other local booksellers Annie Blooms Books and Broadway Books said they had limited copies as well, but all were reserved or pre-orders.
