Turkish ties hit rough patch after rough Erdogan visit

Sen. John McCain said Thursday that Turkey's ambassador to the United States should be removed after a clash between Turkish security and protesters in Washington D.C. this week.

The U.S. State Department said the episode was "deeply disturbing" and promised that an investigation would hold those responsible to account.

And new video revealed Thursday shows Erdogan - who hours earlier had met with President Donald Trump - watching the fracas from his vehicle outside the Turkish embassy.

The statement said that the US communicated its concerns to the Turkish government "in the strongest possible terms".

Trump, dogged by questions at home, makes first trip abroad
Trump will be signing several agreements on US-Saudi security and economic cooperation during his visit to Riyadh on Friday. One thing we're going to see is the first road test of what "American First" means on the global stage.

"Brett McGurk, the USA's special envoy in the fight against Daesh (Islamic State), is definitely and clearly giving support to the PKK and YPG. It would be beneficial if this person is changed", Cavusoglu said.

"This shameful incident also calls again into question President Trump's praise for President Erdogan, whose consolidation of power threatens the foundation of Turkey's democracy". His security detail scuffled with demonstrators as well as members of the press outside the Brookings Institution in Washington D.C.in March 2016.

The Trump administration concedes that it released two members of Erdogan's detail after holding them briefly after the incident outside the Turkish ambassador's residence.

"Violence is never an appropriate response to free speech, and we support the rights of people everywhere to free expression and peaceful protest", State Department spokesman Heather Nauert said. "This is the United States of America".

Ford updates its 2016 vehicles to support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
For a while now, Ford has promised that it would bring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to Sync 3 users in 2016-model-year vehicles. Android Auto is already available on all 2017 models, and this update brings the platform to around 800,000 additional vehicles.

President Erdogan's security staff can be seen kicking and beating Turkish anti-government protesters in Washington. "This kind of thing can not go un-responded to diplomatically", Senator John McCain told MSNBC's Morning Joe programme on Thursday. Over 33,000 tweets mentioned the hashtag, many of which said the protesters deserved to be beaten, and that Turkish users were "very satisfied watching the video".

Several lawmakers have joined a growing chorus of voices demanding action in the wake of the bloody brawl that sent nine to the hospital on Tuesday - just hours after Erdogan met with President Donald Trump at the White House.

Both pro- and anti-Erdogan groups had gathered outside the embassy Tuesday. "As I have previously done so, I have been frankly communicating our expectations with regard to the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization, which we have notified our friends of their involvement in the failed coup of July the 15th in Turkey", the White House translates Erdogan's statement as reading.

Earlier President Trump and president Erdogan promised to strengthen ties between their two nations, despite the Turkish leader's stern warning about Washington's arming of Kurdish militias.
