The incident took place when a group of four cattle traders were on their way to Rajnagar in Seraikela-Kharsawan district to buy cattle.
Hundreds of tribals have lynched seven people in separate incidents in Jharkhand in the past 24 hours over rumours of child abduction that spread like wildfire across the tribal belt in the state's southern districts, police said on Friday. The mob chased the vehicle till Daru village, and while three escaped, they started beating Sheikh Naim, and set their auto on fire.
"We have received information that six people were beaten to death by mobs at two different places over child theft rumors yesterday", a police official in Ranchi told Xinhua.
