Based on the memoir by Jeannette Walls, "The Glass Castle" tells the story of the author as she recounts her and her siblings' upbringing with poverty-stricken parents due to her father never being able to find a stable job. As a kid, she and her loving but highly dysfunctional family would constantly be moving from town to town and often would be squatting in abandoned houses. We were drowning, ' she's seen saying to him, and, seemingly near tears, she notes that 'It was your job to protect us'. And as we see in the trailer, there is plenty of emotional depth to go around.
