Union Minister Jayant Sinha on Thursday said the new state government in Uttar Pradesh has asked for a fresh technical evaluation for setting up a green field airport at Jewar, located in Gautam Budh Nagar district, adjoining national capital city Delhi.
The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has started work on Jewar airport and has written to the aviation ministry to conduct a technical evaluation of the proposed site.

Last year, the Civil Aviation Ministry said it had received a proposal from the then state government for grant of site clearance for the proposed airport near Jewar. In this specific case, there are other limitations also. Shri Sinha said that the Ministry will soon put in place a Master Plan for expansion of Airside Capacity and Terminal Capacity at the airport to accommodate the increase in passenger volume.
