Eight people have been safely rescued after a boat overturned in the Atlantic off the coast of Sligo. The man is believed to be in a serious but stable condition.
Denis Moloney, station officer at Malin Head Coast Guard, said Malin Head received the mayday call at about 11.25am this morning, Sunday.
An RNLI lifeboat, which was conducting training in the area, went to their rescue.

The lifeboat crew rescued all eight people from the water and one man was airlifted to hospital by the Irish Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 118.
One other person suffered minor injuries.
An eight individual was rescued from the sea and was transferred to A&E at Sligo Hospital Rescue 118 helicopter.

The teenager is from, Ixworth Thorpe, near Bury St Edmunds, but had been visiting Cambridge with friends when she went missing. She has not been seen since and Suffolk officers believe she travelled to King's Cross before heading to the Islington area.
Sligo Bay RNLI lifeboat operations manager Willie Murphy said the incident happened at the end of a hard week for the rescue services following the loss of Rescue 116.
The man in a serious condition was flown straight to hospital, while the remaining men were brought ashore to Aughris Pier.
The other six did not require any medical attention.
